Crochet

Image via Pinterest

I've been crocheting lately. My current "craft of choice" my Husband would say.
He says I go from craft to craft and just keep them all in rotation. :) ...crocheting, paper crafts, party goodies, jewelry, etc., etc., etc.

Anyway, I have been making things for Baby and am thinking of crocheting a few Christmas gifts as well. As I was browsing around Pinterest the other night, I found that the Popular page was full of lots of crochet pins also. So, I guess I am not the only one on a crochet kick right now.

One site that I recently discovered is called Ravelry and it has tons of great patterns. Lots of them are free and some are also instant downloads. I'll try to get some picks up soon of the things I've been making.

p.s.
We're having another baby boy! :)

DIY Wrap Bracelets

diy bracelets, diy wrap bracelets, bracelet tutorial

Forgive this incredibly dark pic but it was night time. You know, the time when my kids look like angels in their beds and I can craft!!! ;) I made these bracelets....which I LOVE and one of which I have been dying to make for a while! If you have not discovered Honestly WTF yet you have to check it out! Their tutorial for the brown wrap bracelet you see above is awesome and that's what I followed to make mine. It's been on my list forever and I am so happy I finally made it!  *Just FYI: I had waxed cotton thread instead of waxed linen and it worked fine. Also, for the ball chain I just bought one you would use for your ceiling fan in the hardware dept. at Wal-Mart for less than $2*  The other is a beaded wrap bracelet that takes a little more work but is seriously not that hard at all. I looked at several videos on You Tube for these bracelets and this one is a little long but has a really good close shot of the process.

These are seriously addicting! I have a date with some more beads today! ;) lol

For a tutorial on another super easy diy bracelet check out this one.

{Tutorial} DIY Bracelet

I made this bracelet quite a while back already and never got around to posting the pictures I had taken to share with you. This is a super easy and inexpensive project! The belt I used was thrifted but you could also use an old one that you already have. The main thing to look for is a belt with a buckle or rivet that screws on (please let me know if you know what this specific type of rivet is called).

{Creationz} Friendship Bracelets

With school starting and friends being made I remembered these bracelets I used to make
when I was in school.  My daughter comes home from school talking about the friends she's made and
my niece called me the other night telling me how some new friends gave her a friendship bracelet. So, I thought I'd make some for both of my favorite school girls and maybe they can pass some on to their new friends.

Appreciation Apples

With my cousin's party last weekend and my daughter starting school soon {wiping my tears}... I have apples on the brain! I came across these on the Fiskars site and thought they were so cute and easy to make. They suggested this idea for teacher appreciation but I also love this as a cute way to leave a little surprise note from Mommy in your little one's lunch box.
